Feldenkrais for Instrumentalists
For instrumentalists Any professional musician will concede that it is the interaction between the body and the instrument that creates music. the lessons are designed to meet the unique needs of each player and their specific instrument.
Instrumentalists must deal with the special features and technique of their chosen instrument which often necessitates adopting a more “unnatural” body posture or playing position over extended periods of time.
Tension and other problems may arise, affecting not only the player’s body, but fundamentally influencing the sound which is a direct result of the relationship between player and instrument and the nature of the player’s movements.
The lessons therefore focus on solving postural problems and discovering new ways of moving to facilitate greater range and ease of movement, more flexibility and freedom of technique, increased focus and variety in sound.
